General Anesthesia and Sedation

What is sedation?

Sedation is the process of bringing the person to a semi-conscious state and reducing the feeling of pain by administering an anesthetic substance to the body through various routes (respiratory tract, intravenous injection, oral use).

Who can receive sedation?

Sedation can be safely performed on patients who do not have any general health problems but are extremely anxious or fearful. Patients who will undergo a procedure with sedation must have at least 1 companion with them.

What is general anesthesia?

General anesthesia is a state of complete unconsciousness in which all motor and sensory functions of the body are completely lost. Patients do not feel any pain during the procedure.

Who can receive general anesthesia?

Before general anesthesia is applied, the patient's necessary blood tests and respiratory tract functions are examined by a specialist anesthesiologist, and general anesthesia can be applied under operating room conditions in every patient group that the doctor approves.
